I know what you mean, Terry. You can't defeat all of them at once.
My biggest addiction believe it or not, has been Starbucks coffee. Just this past week I decided to quit. Hopefully, my digestive tract will be for the better.
Now I'm perfectly content drinking coffee from a small "hole-in-the-wall" donut shop.
My addiction was drinking coffee too I was made by coffee I had soo much coffee going through my system that I was, but that was when I had a job, I am disabled with bulging disks in my neck, I cant work, but that was my only one of my many addictions, another one was drinking and I gave that up to 7 yrs ago, also smoking, and a lot of other addictions...
I think when you talk about your addictions they start to control you a little less. It also helps because when others know, then they don't feel so all alone in their struggle with addictions. One of mine is smoking...lol, but I use to have a whole lot more.
I care. If you would like to talk about your addictions I would read. My personal experience has been one of acceptance. Only when I can finally like myself where I am do I finally seem to be able to leave one addiction behind and then move on. Maybe I find myself addicted again, to something else but each time it seems to be a little less harmful to myself and others and someday maybe there will not even be one addiction but a total ability to be myself and like myself and let myself be liked by others.
Please take care =)
I am fascinated by your writing.
If you need an ear (or a prayer)...I care.
