Christmas hugs is all I can afford

Sadness overwhelms me
bringing tears to my eyes
I lay my head upon my pillow and scream and cry
my insides feel like I’ve died
snow falls like rain
Christmas won’t be the same
missing my loved ones
Christmas won’t be any fun
opening empty presents under the tree
except their won’t be any from me
a Christmas hug is all I can afford
giving is what Christmas is for
a smile and a chuckle from children everywhere
but for Christmas this year
it sad and wet tears

Hi Mee mOe,
What a beautiful poem. I understand and appreciate it's meaning. I enjoyed, and felt this poem on a few different levels. Thank you and Happy Holidays. -Mike.
